Affording Therapy: Investing in Your Mental Health

At MR Therapy, we believe that therapy is one of the most valuable investments you can make in yourself. Prioritizing your mental health can lead to personal growth, healthier relationships, and greater overall wellbeing. We understand that cost is an important factor when considering therapy, and we want to provide guidance on how to make it work for you.

Therapy Is an Investment in Yourself

Just like investing in physical health, education, or personal development, therapy can be an essential part of self-care. When you commit to therapy, you’re giving yourself the tools and support needed to navigate challenges, heal, and grow. Many clients find that therapy enhances their quality of life in ways that extend far beyond the time they spend in sessions.

Insurance & Superbills: What You Need to Know

Michele is an out-of-network provider, meaning she does not work directly with insurance companies. However, we provide superbills—detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Often times, it may take less than 5 minutes to submit an out of network claim and upload the superbill via your insurance’s website for processing and reimbursement.

It’s important to note:

    •    Reimbursement varies based on your insurance plan. A majority of PPO plans and many non-PPO plans offer partial coverage for out-of-network therapy.

    •    You are responsible for verifying benefits. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider and ask about their policies for out-of-network mental health services.

    •    We do not communicate with insurance companies. While we’re happy to provide superbills, we do not submit claims.

To check if your plan offers reimbursement for therapy, you can ask your insurance company:

    •    “Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health therapy?”

    •    “What percentage of therapy costs will be reimbursed?”

    •    “How do I submit a superbill?”

Therapy Doesn’t Have to Be Forever

Therapy is a personal journey, and the length of time you spend in therapy depends on your goals. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy, where they focus on a specific challenge over a set number of sessions. Others may choose longer-term support for ongoing personal growth.

Whatever your path looks like, many clients gain tools and insights that allow them to step away from therapy when they feel ready, knowing they can return if needed.

You Are Worth It

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Many people hesitate to invest in therapy, but the benefits—greater emotional resilience, reduced stress, improved relationships, and personal fulfillment—are invaluable.

We encourage you to think of therapy not just as an expense, but as a meaningful investment in your wellbeing. You deserve the support, care, and space to work through life’s challenges with a compassionate professional by your side.
